Like it being hard to see the forest because of the trees, you might not see the mirrors because of all the smoke.

But if you squint, you’ll see the similarities between big, beautiful Los Angeles and Trump’s big, beautiful bill.  In truth, both are big, but neither is beautiful.  Actually, both are deeply entrenched in an ugly political game.

The latest smoke in LA comes from a few dozen police cars set on fire by those mostly peaceful protesters at work again.  What’s the worry?  ICE ICE baby.  The welcoming sanctuary city that also leads America in homelessness doesn’t like Trump’s desire to deport illegal aliens.

Hollywood loved Hogan’s Heroes as they carried out ops right under the Germans’ noses.   Hollywood hates the redux called Homan’s Heroes and sometimes reach as far as saying Trump is the worst German of all, Adolf Hitler.

Trump wants the National Guard and/or the Marines to protect the ICE agents and, if needed, quell the uprising.  He’d also like to see the law upheld for once and put the destructive criminals in jail.

Quickly, the “democratic leaders” from Cali assembled virtually like the Los Angeles Philharmonic, all singing the same song.  “We don’t want the National Guard to help.  Deploying the Marines is against the Constitution of sending the military against its people.  This is a threat to our very democracy.”

Eric Swallowswell, Nancy Pelosi, Kamala Harris, Karen Bass, Maxine Waters, Gavin Gruesome, and others sing the same song about bad man Trump.  Even former First Gentleman Doug Emhoff piled on.  Paul Pelosi is the only one who hasn’t brought the hammer down yet.

Credit should be given to Karen Bass for being in the city this time when it is ablaze.  Gavin is rehabbing his rep with an eye on the White House in 2028.  He only steps in when he sees a way to make political hay.

Both were happy to see Trump when Malibu was in ashes in January.  But now they don’t need the federal government’s help.

Last afternoon, Mayor Bass issued a curfew for downtown LA and threatened “to arrest bad actors who are taking advantage of the President’s chaotic escalation.” That wording is cinematic excellence.   It’s LaLa Land and bad actors, imagine that.  And, it’s Trump’s fault that we won’t let ICE do their job, so we burn down our town.

Good call on the curfew, three days late.

Remember when illegals got shipped to Martha’s Vineyard, and within 24 hours they called the National Guard and had them all removed without due process?

It was but a week ago that the Dems decided they liked Musk again after hating him and torching his cars, not their police force cars.  Before that, they loved him.

But when Musk openly opposed the big, beautiful bill, they embraced him again.   When he openly feuded with DJT they cheered.  They aren’t against spending too much whatsoever.  They’re just against Donald J. Trump.  So, politically, they oppose the big spending bill.

And they finally see a seam that could divide the country through midterms.  Always keep your eye on the prize. That’s why considerable additional funding has these malcontents protesting in Austin, Chicago, and New York.

From coast to coast, it’s not what’s right for America.  It’s what’s best for a political party’s future.

Big mess, yes.  Beautiful, no.
